construct designs that cater to your specifications, style, and budget that are presented in the brief. You will no longer have to settle for cut-and-paste house plans. All architects registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) have the ability to prepare scale drawings and often 3D models of the proposed self-project. ensure that you are in compliance with all statutory obligations such as planning permission, party wall agreements and building regulations. Your architect will have extensive knowledge and experience to guide you through the application processes when obtaining these permissions.

3. Your self-build architect will….
aid you in selecting the proper fittings, finishing, materials and lighting that are compatible with your lifestyle and will ultimately increase the value of your home. Furthermore, the architect can also help control costs during the design and specification stages of the project to make sure you are getting the most out of your budget.

4. Your self-build architect will….
oversee the project to completion, helping to control the programme and costs during the build process. Your architect can also help you select the right builder and arrange and administer your contract with them. This contract will ensure the building work is being done in accordance with the drawings and specifications to a predefined time-frame and cost. The architect will make regular inspections and issue certificates for completed work so you will only ever pay for the work that has been done. In addition, an architect can coordinate with various consultants and engineers to ensure all parties are on the same page throughout the project.

5. Your self-build architect will….
solve various construction issues that may arise as the project develops. Specifically, your architect will be able to prepare change orders that are necessary when there are deviations from the original plan.

All architects are required to hold professional indemnity insurance. So if there is anything in the design work which causes problems later down the line, you will be protected under their insurance.
