I started my architectural career working with highly skilled craftsman designing and ‘hands on’ building Buddhist temples. This has inevitably informed my approach to design. Since that time I have worked on the design of a variety of buildings from complex civic building to crafting homes for individuals.
I endeavour to listen carefully to the client, try to understand their aspirations and vision for their home. I try consciously not to impose any particular style or solution onto a client understanding my role instead is to facilitate the homeowner in transforming their aspiration into reality.
Alongside architectural practice I have been a teacher of meditation and mindfulness for over fifteen years. This connection inevitably leads to the other main aspect of my architectural work which is creating spiritual spaces. I have worked on a number of Temples and meditation spaces.

James was enthusiastic about our project from the outset. He provided a free no obligation home visit which was generous and informative. He inspired confidence in his advice on design, tendering and construction and his quotation was competitive. His interest in the potential of architecture to make a difference to family life came across strongly.
