I'm a RIBA chartered architect who loves problem solving and generating maximum value for my clients. I do this by designing beautiful buildings to challenging briefs that are finished on time and on budget. I am also passionate about sustainable design, particularly how this can create warm, comfortable and healthy homes.

Commissioning an architect and undertaking a major construction project can be daunting so I aim to make the process as seamless as possible. I will guide you through the full process from design, to budgeting, to planning and then construction. Whether your project is a new build or a refurbishment I work closely with you to make sure you're happy with our design at each stage before progressing onto the next.

Outside of work I love living, working and playing in the fantastic city of Sheffield. Especially the many opportunities there are to enjoy the great outdoors in and around the city.

We used this practice to help us remodel a tired 1930’s house with lots of small dark rooms into a stunning bright and airy modern home. Their vision was fantastic adding a full height front extension to bring the stairs out of the central footprint, creating extra space and bringing light to the previously dark front spaces. This created a full height entrance hall and helped give us two extra rooms in a previously small attic space. Internally they tied all the spaces together with clever design features giving us a house where every space is used and the house is quite literally a joy to live in!

They persuaded us to invest in making the external envelope as air tight and well insulated as possible and fit an MVHR system. Initially we were very skeptical but are now delighted with the thermal performance of the house both in summer and winter.

They were thoroughly professional throughout dealing positively and practically with the inevitable challenges along the way. Our contractor had never done anything like this before and they supported him technically when necessary.

Their clever design and attention to detail added significantly to the value of the finished property and we could never have achieved this on our own.

I had the pleasure of commissioning this practice to undertake design and planning work on a residential project. They’re quick, efficient, insightful, creative, and a pleasure to deal with, grasping client concepts quickly and finding the very best solutions. Very happy to recommend them as a great architect to work with!

When we relocated from London area, our aim was a future-proofed sustainable retirement home – full of light, warm, economic and easy to live in. On the basis of their website and meeting the team, we had no hesitation in engaging them to design and project manage the work on a bungalow with stunning views of the Peak District, but in need of refurbishment and remodelling. We are now in a house that more than meets our aims and exceeds our expectations, and we are very happy. The pictures speak for themselves.

Throughout the work we had a close and very positive working relationship with them, which was genuinely two-way. We were also fortunate to have a good builder working closely with the architect as project manager. Their knowledge and expertise were essential in delivering the final result. Maximising the light and views, use of space, making the building warm, healthy and a pleasure to live in. The spaces both inside and out are designed to both look good and make movement and access very easy now and in the future.

Much of the good design is summed up in the living room main window and box seat – economically enlarging an existing window space, and transforming it into one of the centre pieces of the building, both visually and functionally. Young and old are drawn to it, they love it.

Their contribution was not just about the big issues of thermal efficiency, a well designed space, warm and healthy building that is also future-proofed. They were very helpful in navigating us through the different stages of the build – design, tender, contract, completion. They also dealt with the planning permission process for a building that was in a Conservation Zone, and a few hundred metres from the National Park boundary. They helped in the process of cutting some costs, without compromising any of the essentials, when the initial tenders came in over our budget. They suggested possible options and this including calculating the effect on thermal efficiency of each potential cut, which was invaluable in the decision process.

During the works we were not physically close to the site but we remained in good contact throughout the different stages, in addition to the regular site meetings they organised. We always found them very approachable, helpful and responsive.

We have already recommended them without qualification to other people looking for architects and designers, and will continue to do so. From our own experience, we can fully vouchsafe for the information on the their website about their values and approach, design ethos and their services – they are and do what they say. Most importantly, they have been essential in helping to deliver for us our new home, which more than speaks for itself and is the best possible recommendation.
