RIBA architect Matthew founded his practice in 2008, after qualifying as an architect in 1998.
I like to keep the practice small and workflow manageable so that I can concentrate on each project. This ensures that every project is successful, affordable, and most importantly meets the needs of the client.
I have a very good town planning track record and understand how to navigate through the planning system to get the best approval to suit the client's/householders needs.
For small scale domestic residential projects (extensions, loft conversions etc) I provide a fixed fee ‘design and approvals’ service. For this I carry out a measured survey, go through the design options, produce a full set of drawings, and get all of the necessary approvals in place. This provides everything the householder needs to get prices from a contractor/builder and for them to be able to carry out the building work. I don’t have a regular role during the building work but are on hand for advice and guidance if required. Alternatively I can offer a full service which includes overseeing the building work and certification.
If required, I can recommend good affordable structural engineers, construction professionals, and competent reliable building contractors and tradesmen.

A really helpful consultation, that actually gave me a reality check, particularly with side extensions. Lots of food for thought and alot wiser for the experience.
