My name is Mark Rist, Director at a London based award winning studio.

Importantly as a studio:

- We listen to our clients, their needs and aspirations.

- We always aim to maximise budgets and add value to all our designs.

- We work with an array of talented consultants and specialists and know that assembling the right team is essential to achieve quality in design and construction.

- We provide architectural services from concept design, planning and technical design through to monitoring builders progress and payments through construction periods.

- We are dedicated to improving sustainability in domestic design. This includes not only material use but thermal and lighting consideration as well as the use of sustainable energies.

As well as design itself, we have a great fondness and enthusiasm for meeting and working with new clients across London and the UK, and we very much look forward to hearing from you.

We have loved working with Mark and Natalie from Studio Naama for our flat refurbishment in a Modernist high rise apartment building. Right from the start, we were captivated by the creative ideas they presented us for how life in the flat could be substantially improved and wanted to discover where they could lead. We haven’t been disappointed! The designs we will now be turning into reality – under their careful and professional management of the contractor – are creative, beautiful but very pragmatic and efficient. We had challenging demands for what we wanted to achieve from the design and throughout, they listened carefully and managed to incorporate them without losing the essence of their original vision, despite the challenging space constraints. Mark and Natalie’s attention to detail, high standards of professionality, care and a constant eye on the cost implications have made the whole process a reassuring delight. We are very excited to see their hard work come to fruition and to experience our new home!

We liked Mark’s work a lot and had a very helpful conversation with him. He was thoughtful and interested in the house and our project. We’ve decided to go a different route but I’m grateful to Mark for the consultation and would have been pleased to work with him.

Renovate terraced 2-bed mock Victorian house - built 1920s

★★★★★

In the Zoom consultation with Mark we discussed my initial ideas about the project and hehelped me to understand which of these were possible within my budget restraints. He was a good listener and provided a range alternatives to consider beyond my original conception. The subsequent fees and services proposal was clear and indicated various points in the project where I could take responsibility from the architect if I felt confident enough. Overall, it was a very constructive process for me and I would recommend him.

Mark and Natalie demonstrated a great balance between creativity and innovation and respect for the fabric and essence of our grade 2 listed home. Their high level of attention to detail applied throughout the project from initial designs and specifications, through to sign off of the finished work. This involved creating a constructive and professional relationship with the building contractor which was maintained throughout and after the project. As clients, the project generated minimum stress and was completed on budget. We are very happy to recommend them.

Working with Mark and Natalie at Studio Naama was a truly rewarding experience for my partner and me. We purchased a two-bed flat that needed significant work but had potential. Our vision was to create a fluid internal/external space, bring in more natural light, and design a home that could evolve with us over time, all within a realistic budget. From day one, Mark and Natalie understood our objectives and designed elements that delivered the most impact for the space and our budget.

They went far beyond the design phase, guiding us through planning permissions, tendering, selecting materials, and navigating the inevitable curveballs of the build. They fought for the details that mattered and ensured the final result matched our vision, even staining our resin kitchen island at 10pm on a Tuesday when a builder issue arose. They also encouraged us to try new things, like building our own furniture. They designed our dining and bedside tables, and spent a Sunday with us to build them.

The result is a home we’re truly proud of. It wouldn’t have been possible without Studio Naama, and we couldn’t recommend them more.

R & H - London renovation
We had a bit of trepidation; is it really that smart to open your bedroom to your living room and vice versa? Will we just end up leaving it shut? But it's been wonderful. The feeling of space. The plants that break the view. We're better connected, too - we can chat more easily while getting on with our day. And the light! When we want, closing the panels makes for a clean, peaceful bedroom. But so far, we've mainly left them open! We love it - a testament to what can be achieved in small spaces with great design.
