'We bought our house because we loved the location but it always felt dark and cramped. We chose Vatraa because they immediately understood us as people and were attuned to our particular needs. We wanted space to move around our kitchen, with room for our circular dining table, and we wanted more light. We also wanted our ill son’s room to be better aligned with family living. We felt strongly about sustainability and wanted to upcycle as many materials as possible, and also convert the heating and hot water system in a way that was sympathetic to the surroundings but where we no longer relied on gas. We were keen for the outdoor spaces to feel part of our lives and Vatraa produced the perfect design; the beautiful garden flows seamlessly from the kitchen extension and our son has a pretty roof garden right outside his room. The finished design reflects all our needs and has additionally hugely improved the way the entire living area feels and flows.'
