The most rewarding aspect of working in residential architecture is transforming a client's home so that it changes the way they live each day for the better. There are so many interesting and clever ways to bring value to a space through light, connections, alignments, material selection and just good design, which do not have to add cost above and beyond the desired budget. We see the process as a collaboration, understanding what our clients are really looking for and developing the design to bring all the crucial details together. One of the best parts of our role is to see how excited clients get as the designs develop and they can see the full potential of their home.

We are thrilled with our kitchen extension - it has completely changed the way we live in our house! The kitchen is now the heart of the home and the formerly unused dining room has been transformed to a sitting area overlooking the garden. Katie took our initial ideas but suggested so many improvements (swapping the kitchen and dining room, adding a window seat in the kitchen, raising the patio to the same level as the house) which ultimately gave us so much more than we ever hoped for. The visualisations really helped us to envision the new space. It was a pleasure to work with Katie and Chris. They listened to our wish list but delivered so much more - including very clear drawings which our builder was able to work to with very few queries.

We have recently completed a knock-down rebuild project on our family home in Wargrave, Berkshire with Chris and Katie. Katie & Chris offered us a fantastic service. We live in a Tudor, listed building which required a great deal of renovation and a total revamp of the large parts of the house. Fineline delivered a fabulous design which was both contemporary but also sympathetic to the original ancient building. Both Katie and Chris had great ideas and where a joy to work with. They were also excellent at dealing with our local council and conservation officer to ensure that the designs we submitted would have the highest likelihood of success, which indeed they did as we had the entire programme of works agreed by the planning department. I can not recommend Fineline highly enough and I would definitely use them again.
