I qualified as a chartered architect at The Architectural Association in London, three years ago.

Since then I have been based in East London working on a number of small, bespoke architectural projects - both for myself and working freelance for large architect firms.

During the time I spent working for myself I have been commissioned on five bespoke renovation and extension projects to Victorian homes.

Further to this I have worked on projects of varying types and sizes: a one-off new home in Hackney, a detailed tender package for 19 new homes in Chichester and a Japanese restaurant fit out for County Hall.

Four of the renovation projects were carried forward to construction under my contract administration, including designing and project managing the interiors. This involved developing full sets of construction documents, creating construction and joinery details and coordinating the work of consultants including engineers, lighting designers, specialist contractors etc.

I’m driven by a desire to work on projects that resonate outside my professional circle. Projects that reflect the image of the client and tell their stories in a way that anyone can connect with.

We want to thank you very much for the work you’ve done designing and overseeing the building work. The result is truly transformational. It’s stunning and practical. You’ve managed to design something that maximises the space, adding a laundry room and a loo, well-defined spaces, and still feels and looks bigger and more open than it was before. Your role as site manager was also very positive and helped to keep the project on track and deliver the design we agreed on. The suggestion of dropping the floor to the garden level and the internal step has given the room a sense of space that would not have done otherwise. Here are a few points from your work we’ve appreciated: You’ve used a project methodology from the start and explained it. It clarified the roadmap ahead. The early design phase was collaborative: we exchanged ideas, you explained a few design principles, and we agreed on the core design. You handled the technical phase and provided us with choices for the necessary professional contributions. You’ve provided a panel of builders with referrals. The site management part of your intervention was reassuring for us. You caught a few errors before they became a problem, you find solutions with the builders. We were impressed with your command of building practices and how easy it was for you to get the builders to do what was needed. We had an excellent relationship with the builders but not a good one with the kitchen designer. You helped us put him back in line. In the last phase, you paid attention to the details and got things corrected when they needed to be in a way that was collaborative with the builders. Was great that you could point us in the right direction for little extras such as the slate tiles for the steps and the builders stated that you had a made a very good choice in doing so as the steps are beautiful.

Thank you very much for your excellent work. Daniel & Margaret

My husband and I are currently working with Victoria Havercroft on a side return build, kitchen renovation and reconfiguration of the ground floor including the build of a downstairs toilet and laundry room.

She is fantastic to work with. Incredibly creative, diligent, excellent at problem-solving, and very quick to respond.

We can not recommend highly enough.

Very best wishes Gemma

We engaged the services of Victoria to provide extensive remodelling design and extension to the second floor of our residential home providing space for a large staircase to match the ground to first floor together with 2 double bedrooms, bathroom and storage. I would recommend Victoria to anyone who is seeking a job that is personalised, detailed, and accurate – qualities that are vital for a successful build that does not encounter build delay and overspend. It transpired that there are no right angles in our house but rather than being daunted or unsympathetic to the Edwardian building Victoria worked carefully and diligently with xxxxx (who did the super duper survey) to blend the extension into the original house to help its aesthetics from the street. I took some persuading that this expense was required but now the builders have been on site for over 2 months that early detailed work has paid dividends many times over. The builders have been extremely impressed by the accuracy of the drawings and with Victoria’s attitude towards engaging with them long after her official involvement with the project came to an end. When we come to redesign the kitchen we will not hesitate to invite Victoria to be a part of that project.
