Significant residential project in semi-detached Edwardian house, 4 floors in Highgate: kitchen side & rear extension; new plumbing, electrics, appliances, glazing, bathrooms, decoration; re-configuring several rooms including creating new doorways; tanking & insulating cellar & complete redesign/terracing of the garden. 12 months projects with our vacating the house. Architect's plans provided a good structure but needed refining to improve useability/internal aesthetics & reduce costs - all of which Kim achieved. She is far more than a project manager; a practical, wise adviser on all aspects of design, building, interiors: 1. strong ideas & creative challenge, resulting in major improvements (including extra guest bedroom & bathroom & a larger, lighter, obstruction free kitchen); 2. sourced the kitchen (direct from factory in Italy), appliances, sanitary wear, lighting, showers & all flooring making large savings, & giving better products; 3. managed, instructed & maintained excellent relations with builders & was on site at least once every week; 4. kept me in close contact, advised me on all decisions, & acted as the coordinator of the whole project. Kim's fee represented the most cost-effective element in my budget - her involvement made this project (& saved me a lot of stress, time and, quite probably, my day job). She is also a thoroughly nice and easy person to work with. I would heartily recommend De Beauvoir & Kim for any building project or design works.

We are very grateful to you Kim, for the expertise and hard work you brought to the renovations of our house on Uplands Road. When you joined the project we were not confident in how it was being managed - but you quickly brought an air of calm competence to proceedings. There was always a sense of ‘Where can I help?’ rather than ‘Not my problem’, and the contractors you helped us select were truly excellent. You have a great eye for detail and design and came up with some amazing ideas throughout the build. You made subtle but effective changes and improvements to the architects' drawings where necessary and introduced a few extremely clever aesthetic and practical improvements to the overall design, without us having to engage the architect again. The amount of time you spent on site was absolutely incredible. You worked tirelessly on our behalf and it felt like you were utterly on top of everything at all times, answering every minor question (which you so skilfully kept us away from). We never saw you stressed or impatient and you were always generous and kind with all your suggestions and advice. Any prospective client should know their build is in the safest of hands with you in charge.. We couldn’t have done it without you..... Thank you very much for creating such a beautiful home for us all.

I have just finished a project with Kim, incorporating a basement, which was previously a two bedroom flat, into the rest of our house. The work also included a bespoke contemporary staircase, double height glazing and remodelling of the ground floor. Kim absolutely understood what we wanted to achieve and the result was way better than we could have achieved without her. She added a much more creative touch to the design and always gave us price options when sourcing things. I particularly loved the lighting choices she came up with, none of which we would have found alone. She has a very good eye for detail and project managed the time and budget extremely well.
