Ian Banks qualified as a RIBA chartered architect in 1990 and set up his own collaborative practice in 2007 operating in predominantly Cheshire and South Manchester. The residential design service offered by his practice is the key part of his wider limited company portfolio. Ian takes great pride in the ethics and integrity of this work, and always strives to deliver great bespoke design, customer service and professionalism in equal measure. Project design expertise includes new build and self build custom houses; small to large residential extensions and sun rooms; loft and basement conversions; domestic swimming pools, gyms, bars and home cinemas; Other specialisms involve sustainable green design, including Ground and Air Source Heat Pump technology and modular building systems; and planning advice on Permitted Development and ‘Class Q exceptions’ for housing new build and large conversions and extensions in Green Belt and Open Countryside.
