Hello, I'm Melanie Barnes. I'm a BIID registered interior designer based in Brighton & Hove. I founded Elixir Interior Design after graduating from Brighton Met College (NCFE Interior Design Levels 1, 2 and 3) in 2012. I specialise in high-end residential and commercial design with a particular passion for working in period properties (including Grade II listed). I like to create beautiful, contemporary functional spaces that balance modern living in more traditional settings.

I provide full interior design services in and around Brighton & Hove and central London, as well as 'lighter touch' packages. These include services to help clients style their home / workplace and to help them develop concepts for their own renovation projects.

I also provide 90 minute interior design consultations where you'll get 'a designers eye' and a professional opinion that will help you complete your space on your own. These are useful if you want to discuss your design direction or you need help with a specific design decision.

Recent commercial projects include a Grade II* boutique hotel and the UK Headquarters of US Audiovisual provider 'Biamp'.

Understanding and articulating our clients' dream interiors and bringing them to life is our USP. We listen to how they would like their homes or workplaces to feel, and create bespoke designs which look amazing and function beautifully.

Melanie helped us design & furnish our Georgian townhouse. Having never previously worked with an interior designer we were a bit nervous about being talked into things we didn't want but I can honestly say that she is lovely to have around.
