I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1999 and the Royal College of Art in 2003. During my early career I worked with a number of leading architects including Edward Cullinan, Architecture for London, and Berman Guedes Stretton. My experience ranges from sustainable one off houses, to alterations, to heritage and extensions, at a variety of scales. I founded Resonant Architecture in 2020 to pursue an an agenda of truly sustainable design and its ability to transform both places and communities.
Philosophy My professional philosophy has evolved over three decades, through practice, research and teaching. I believe that the success of a project is dependent on a powerful initial concept. This approach informs every aspect of my work, from early consultation through programme design, to selection of materials and technical considerations.
My approach begins and ends with sustainability. Our impact on the environment, both natural and human-made, is central to our operation as a practice. As explored in more detail on our sustainability page, the natural world is our greatest asset, and critical to the health, prosperity and wellbeing of all humans. Accordingly, in all services I will work with you to enhance the health and energy efficiency benefits of your project, in other words to lower bills while clearing the air.
I offer a free initial visit and consultation for newbuild projects.
