Here’s the individual responses from the survey. We have provided the kitchen cost together with the predicted ‘typical’ extension cost to provide some context. In general, the higher expected extension costs are from architects based in London/SE.

Do I need an architect for a new kitchen?
If the kitchen involves simply replacing or upgrading an existing kitchen, the most common and cost-effective approach is to go to kitchen suppliers directly and take advantage of their in-house design services.
We would recommend instead using an architect or interior designer for your new kitchen if:
- You are looking for a new kitchen that is a little more unique or bespoke (like the one pictured above!)
- or if your new kitchen is part of a wider renovation project, involving alterations to the internal layout of your home.
Here is an article which can help you decide whether you need an architect or an interior designer for your project.
